Happy happy birthday John L. Maalona!!!

"Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!"
(Kalidasa)

John: I know it is already Friday in Thailand, but remember that you were born in the People's Republic of California, so it still is your birthday.

The only thing that I could express forever to you is my gratitude for all the time, patience and help you have dedicated to me; I mean it. Sometimes I can be very mean; as you pointed out, I'm self-centered, but I want you to know that it takes a lot of "huevos" to become a more giving person. We all do what we can. Hopefully, our frienship and honesty will help us overcome our misunderstandings. I haven't been a good friend of yours many of the times, and I am sorry for that and for hurting your feelings.

I know that you will read this message only after coming back home. Welcome! Your family and friends want to see you (did you bring Thai T-shirts?)

I wish you all the best and hope you had a great birthday. Take care. God loves you, for you are one of his children ... for you belong to Christ.
